Police have responded to the California residence of the unfortunate runaway teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez 33 times over the past three years, according to 911 records accessed by the Daily Mail.

Rivas’s decomposed body was found on September 8 in the front trunk of singer D4vd’s impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard. She had been missing for over a year, having been last seen in April 2024 at the age of 13.

The recent police dispatch logs, which were obtained from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office through a public records request, document incidents at Rivas’s home in Lake Elsinore, California, from January 2022 to September 2025. Eleven of these calls occurred before she was reported missing, with the remaining 22 taking place afterward.

The records show deputies responding to five criminal complaints and one emergency 911 call before April 2024, while Celeste was still living at the address.

Sources previously told the Daily Mail that Rivas had a troubled home life and had run away multiple times in the past.

Police records and social-media posts indicate she first fled home on Valentine’s Day 2024.

A family friend told the LA Times the teenager left around 2am, leaving behind a note for her family, although it’s unclear what it said.

Her mother, Mercedes Martinez, raised the alarm on Facebook, writing in Spanish: ‘Please share. It’s my daughter, and I’m distraught, and she has been missing for 24 hours.’

The records show Riverside deputies were alerted to Rivas’s disappearance at 9:18am on February 15. They returned for a follow-up at 7:41pm the same day, and two more times over the next 48 hours.

In the meantime, family members continued to spread the word about Rivas’s disappearance on social media and posted missing-person posters around the neighbourhood.

‘Celeste Hernandez, my niece, is missing this morning,’ wrote her aunt Dora Hernandez on Facebook. ‘[She did not] get to classes in Lake Elsinore, California… If anyone has seen her please contact me or her parents… we love you and trust in God you will appear.’

Rivas eventually came home, though it’s unclear when. Records show police returned to the address on February 20 and again on February 25.

A family friend told the Times that when she returned, Rivas was upset by her family’s social-media posts, the flyers they’d put up around the neighbourhood, and the publicity they generated.

Riverside County Sheriff’s officials declined to release records related to the missing-person report, citing an ongoing investigation and restrictions involving a minor.

Rivas didn’t stay home for long. On March 19, 2024, the teenager was reported missing again. Police visited the home three times that day, according to the records.

Surveillance footage from that date, published by TMZ, appeared to show Rivas – dressed in light trousers and a dark sweater – briskly walking past a liquor store at the end of her street.

The video appears to show her approaching a dark vehicle just out of frame. It’s unclear if she gets in before it drives away.

Call logs show her family phoned the police at 7:57am to report her missing. Deputies returned on March 26 for a follow-up, but the department again declined to provide details to the Daily Mail.

Just over a week later, Rivas was reported missing again on April 5, 2024, at 9:29pm. Flyers from her hometown said she left wearing grey trousers, a black sweater, a hat and Hello Kitty sandals.

Police followed up at the address on April 11, 19 and 20, records show. A week later, on April 27, a call was made to report ‘suspicious circumstances’; the records don’t specify the details.

Neighbors told the LA Times that Rivas eventually returned home, though it’s not clear when. Unnamed sources said they saw her in the neighbourhood later that year, at home with her parents.

A short video uploaded to TikTok by one of Rivas’s cousins appears to show her briefly interacting with family members and friends at a neighbourhood cookout. It’s unclear when it was filmed, but it was uploaded on June 2, 2024.

Additional calls made to Riverside County after April 2024 include an incident listed as a ‘minor crime investigation’ on May 24, 2024, a ‘possible assault’ on August 30, 2024, and a ‘juvenile battery/assault’ on December 24, 2024.

Eleven other police visits were logged over the next nine months, including reports of vandalism, a possible fight or disturbance, and repeated follow-ups tied to earlier incidents.

Rivas’s severely decomposed remains were found inside the front trunk of D4vd’s abandoned car on September 8.

The grim discovery was made after police were summoned to a Hollywood tow yard to investigate a foul stench emanating from a recently impounded Tesla.

D4vd – real name David Anthony Burke – was on tour in the US at the time.

A representative for the 20-year-old said he was ‘cooperating’ with police. He later cancelled the remainder of his tour after Rivas was publicly identified.

How Rivas died and how long she’d been dead when officers discovered her body are questions that remain unanswered.

At this time, the LAPD says it doesn’t know if there is ‘any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.’ Celeste’s cause of death has been deferred pending further tests.

Investigators are also probing the nature of Rivas’s ties to Burke and are reportedly reviewing images that appear to show the pair together, law-enforcement sources told the Times.

Those sources also said it is believed that Burke and Rivas first met online.

That aligns with what sources close to Rivas told the Daily Mail last month – that Burke first made contact with her over social media when she was 11 or 12.

Sources told the Daily Mail that Burke was in an illicit relationship with Rivas and that she allegedly ran away to Los Angeles to be with him.

Burke has not been charged with or accused of any crimes.

The $20,000-a-month rental where he’d been living in Los Angeles was raided by police last month.

Officials confirmed the search was related to Rivas and that ‘several items of evidence’ were collected for analysis, but gave no further details.

Days later, the Daily Mail exclusively revealed the lease on the $4.1 million home had been broken by Burke’s manager, Josh Marshall, who had been renting the property in his name.

Marshall hasn’t responded to requests for comment, but posted on social media in response to a TikToker who speculated he was ‘heavily involved’ in Rivas’s disappearance and death.

‘This video is false and the person is misinformed,’ he wrote beneath the clip. ‘How dare you say something like this with no facts.’

‘I had zero knowledge of anything,’ he added.

Burke has not released a statement addressing Rivas’s death.

He has retained top Hollywood attorney Blair Berk, who has yet to respond to requests for comment.

Police have not said whether Burke is still cooperating.

A funeral for Rivas is being held this weekend.
