A 16-year-old boy is clinging to life after being stabbed several times in a brawl in Perth‘s southern suburbs.

One teenager has been charged for his alleged part in the scuffle, but the boy’s attacker is still on the run.

Police have been piecing together the bloody car park clash between eight young men, leaving a Canning Vale restaurant covered with crime tape.

“This guy came while I was getting off my break and he told one of these other girls while we were working at the front and he said ‘do you guys have emergency services? My friend has just been stabbed’,” a worker told 9News.

The boy was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital about 7pm on Thursday for emergency surgery after suffering stab wounds to the face, stomach and arm.

He remained tonight in a critical condition in the ICU.

Police say the Ranford Road brawl erupted after three young men on e-scooters met five others walking to their car after buying a basketball.

Locals say anti-social behaviour is common in the car park, with shouting and screaming often heard.

“There is never a reason to go armed in public like that, to carry a secreted weapon on you, and that’s why we are leading the nation in terms of wanding people and keeping West Australians safe,” Police Minister Reece Whitby said.
