Single day tickets went on sale for Wrigley Field home games starting at 1 p.m. Friday.

Those planning on being at Gallagher Way for Saturday’s watch party can only buy a total of six tickets. Funds raised by those ticket sales benefits Cubs Charities.

Cubs fans will draw large crowds at Wrigley of course, and throughout the neighborhood when they return next week, but they will also be well represented in Milwaukee starting with the first game Saturday.

First pitch in Game 1 between the Cubs and Brewers is set for 1:08 p.m. Saturday.

NLDS schedule:
Game 1 (at MIL): Saturday at 1:08 p.m. CT
Game 2 (at MIL): Monday at 8:08 p.m. CT
Game 3 (at CHC): Oct. 8
Game 4 (at CHC, if necessary): Oct. 9
Game 5 (at MIL, if necessary): Oct. 11

All was quiet on a beautiful Friday afternoon outside Wrigley Field. It seemed everyone was recharging after an exciting three-game series this week and before the division series kicks up next week. Tickets are sold out.

Wrigleyville bars and restaurants are celebrating a few extra days of baseball. It comes at a good time.

“Commerce, especially in October, which seems to be a slower month and when the Cubs are doing a great job and will go all the way to the World Series it means everybody wins,” sad Maureen Martino with the East Lakeview Chamber of Commerce.

At Old Crow, they have doubled their beer and food orders and called in extra staff for next week.

“We had a great season. Everything was super busy,” said Leah Blask with Old Crow. “We had so many people here. Now we have these bonus games. More time to enjoy Wrigleyville.”

Or Wisconsin. Cubs fan Billy Kerstein is one of thousands of Cubs fans traveling to Milwaukee for the first two games.

“Milwaukee’s not that far away,” Kerstein said. “Got a lot of customers, family who want to go to the games. Try to catch the same excitement as 2016.”

Cubs fans historically bring large crowds to what they call Wrigley North in Milwaukee. Despite the Brewers effort to sell to local fans first, it’s often easier and less expensive for Cubs fans to get tickets.

“You probably save 25-30% going up to Milwaukee,” fan Steve Buzil said.

Cubs fans who don’t make the trip to Milwaukee can certainly watch the games at one of the many establishments in Wrigleyville.

Preparations were already underway early Friday at Wrigley Field as the ballpark and fans get ready for the dawn of a new chapter in Cubs baseball this season.

“It was electrifying,” Cubs fan Missi Snelling said. “It just so fun. Everyone was so excited.”

Missi and Tim Snelling are season ticket holders enjoying a stroll around Wrigley Field before heading home to the Florida panhandle. They said getting to experience Thursday night’s win was one for the books.

“We come up like four, five times a year from Florida,” Tim Snelling said. “Enjoy coming to the games but being in a playoff game is amazing.”

Popping champagne, the Cubs celebrated their Wild Card victory over the San Diego Padres Thursday night.

Emotional Cubs fans are living on cloud nine.

The Cubs are now heading to the National League Division Series for the first time since 2017, getting ready to make the drive north to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers in Game 1 Saturday.

A sense of calm has returned to Wrigleyville Friday morning, but the anticipation and excitement was still palpable.

“Yesterday was all about getting the W,” Matt Beightol said.

Wrigleyville’s Matt Beightol is a season ticket holder and says he’s got plenty of confidence the Cubs can crank out a W against the Brewers.

“I think the confidence was gained earlier this year when we won the season series against the Brewers,” Beightol said.
