Both the motorcyclist and pedestrian were hospitalised in the crash, which was caught on camera.
The food delivery driver is seen moving down a main road in Manly Vale before coming to a crashing halt after collecting a pedestrian and sliding along the inside lane.
Visibly shocked, the driver runs from the wreckage before returning, as a Good Samaritan races over to the injured man’s side.
As the number of helpers grows, paramedics arrive on scene and they weren’t taking any chances.
Police followed soon after, shutting down Condamine Street as emergency services tended to the 53-year-old pedestrian.
His injuries were so severe that critical care paramedics were flown in to treat the man roadside.
“The primary injuries were head injuries and he had a decreased level of consciousness,” Kylie O’Brien from NSW Ambulance said.
“He was intubated and transported by road with the medical team to Royal North Shore Hospital.”
He has now been stabilised but the injuries are described as serious.
No charges have been laid but police are reviewing the actions of the food delivery driver, who was also taken to hospital with hip, hand and facial injuries.
