Johnson City man charged with statutory rape

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man has been charged with statutory rape following an investigation.

According to a news release from the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), the department’s special victims unit (SVU) arrested Devon Tolley, 19, on Saturday, Sept. 27.

The SVU began investigating Tolley after reportedly learning that he had “an intimate relationship with a minor at least four years younger than him,” the release states.

Tolley was indicted by a grand jury and later taken into custody. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, according to the JCPD.
