Trump aide Stephen Miller gets called 'the face of evil' by his cousin

Stephen Miller, an advisor to Trump, was labeled ‘the face of evil’ by his cousin following significant ICE raids in Los Angeles, triggering a long social media post.

Alisa Kasmer shared a sharp critique of her ‘border hawk’ cousin for his prominent position in Trump’s immigration policies, initially posting in July, but it gained renewed attention recently.

Kasmer, who claims relation to the Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House through his father’s family, expressed her disappointment, recounting how she observed Miller change from a child she cherished to a political figure she now opposes.

‘I am living with the deep pain of watching someone I once loved become the face of evil,’ Kasmer, who lives in LA, wrote.

She recalled babysitting Miller when they were young, painting him as the ‘awkward, funny, needy middle child who loved to chase attention’ and ‘the sweetest with the littlest family members.’

Kasmer once viewed him as conservative and ‘maybe misguided,’ but ultimately ‘lovable and harmless.’

‘But I was so deeply wrong,’ she said. ‘And the realization that I didn’t know you at all? It guts me. I grieve what you’ve become, Stephen.

‘And I grieve what I’ve lost because of it. I grieve your children I will never meet. I grieve the future family you’ve stolen from me by choosing a path so filled with cruelty that I cannot, and will not, be a part of it.

‘I will never knowingly let evil into my life, no matter whose blood it carries – including my own.’

‘But most of all, I grieve for those directly harmed by your actions. For the communities here in Los Angeles, our shared home, for all of California, and the rest of the country, terrorized by the cruelty you have brought upon us all.’

After expressing her sadness, she went on to berate the immigration policy architect, calling him ‘cruel and hallow.’

She referenced her and Miller’s Jewish roots and the stories of surviving pogroms and the Holocaust they were told growing up.

‘How can you do to others what has been done to us?’ she asked, directing the question at Miller.

‘How can you wake up each day and repeat the cruelty that our people barely escaped from?

‘You’ve destroyed so many lives just to feed your own obsession and ego and uphold an administration so corrupt, so vile, I can barely comprehend it.’

Kasmer also claimed most of his family, except his immediate family members, have chosen not to associate with him.

Miller, who has been credited with handling immigration policies under both of Trump’s administrations, declared over the summer that the president wants at least 3,000 ICE arrests per day.

Despite this lofty target, the rate of immigration-related detainments has dropped in recent months, according to data collected by the nonpartisan Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).

In July, ICE reported making roughly 990 arrests each day – a staggering drop from the daily rate of 1,224 arrests in June.

Trump has also maintained that the primary targets of his tough policies are migrants with violent criminal backgrounds.

But government-released data has revealed that the number of arrested migrants without criminal histories has surpassed the number of those with a record.

The Guardian reported in late September that approximately 16,525 people with no record were detained, while about 15,725 with a record were. About 13,765 people with pending charges were also arrested.

About 71.5 percent of detainees have no criminal convictions, according to TRAC

Kasmer is not the first one of Miller’s relatives to publicly criticize him.

Miller’s uncle, retired neuropsychologist and outspoken critic of Trump, David Glosser, has repeatedly discussed his disapproval of the conservative firebrand.

‘Stephen is just an ambitious functionary of [Trump’s] dark impulse,’ Glosser told the Daily Mail in November 2024.

In a 2018 interview with Anderson Cooper, Glosser called Miller an ‘immigration hypocrite.’

In a Politico piece, Glosser explained the struggles his family faced while coming to the US from the village of Antopol in Belarus during the early 20th century.

‘Had we not been able to enter America when we did, Stephen Miller would never exist,’ Glosser told Cooper.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Kasmer for comment.
