SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Sevierville Mayor Robert Fox said Monday that the Slammedenuff car show will not be welcomed back to the city after the final day of the event was canceled over the weekend.

Fox said Monday during a meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen that the two-day event, which was held at the Sevierville Convention Center, would not be welcomed back in 2026. The city canceled the final day of the event citing “numerous disturbances, safety concerns, and a significant strain on county-wide public resources.”

Prior to the event, police in Pigeon Forge and Sevierville warned participants that parking lot meet-ups outside of the show were not welcome. A large number of law enforcement officers were deployed to clear out a large gathering in the parking lot of Jimmy’s Market in Pigeon Forge on Saturday.

An attorney for Jimmy’s Market said in a statement that management requested law enforcement intervene after the unsanctioned gathering “rapidly escalated beyond safe capacity.” Pigeon Forge Police Chief Richard Catlett said in a statement that officers were called to assist at multiple locations due to “large, unruly crowds and disturbances,” adding that no shots were fired and no gas was deployed while doing so.
