DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Another Danville Police K-9 has received a body armor donation, and it came from the same nonprofit program as before.
Less than one month after K-9 Knox received a protective vest, Danville PD K-9 Judd is receiving one of their own from Vested in K9s, Inc. The vest is bullet and stab protective and was sponsored by the Moscow Elementary School in Bingham, Maine. The vest is embroidered with the sentiment “Gifted by Moscow Elementary School.”
This program is open to United States dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K-9s with expired vests are also able to participate.
