Remember Katie Porter? The former House member was once a popular topic of discussion on RedState, as she faced a variety of abuse scandals. Now, she’s running for governor of California because you can apparently pour scalding potatoes on your ex-husband’s head and still be viable in that state if you’re a Democrat.
To say Porter has anger issues is an understatement, and those flashed again during a recent interview with CBS in Sacramento. Facing mild questions (which were asked of every candidate) about her electability, Porter once again acted like a complete and total psycho, eventually “calling” the sit-down.
Things kicked off when Porter told the interviewer she doesn’t need Trump voters. When pressed on what she meant by that, the former congresswoman repeatedly contradicted herself. That’s when things got tense.

PORTER: I feel like this is unnecessarily argumentative. What is your question?
REPORTER: The question is the same thing I asked everybody, that this is being called the empowering voters to stop Trump’s power grab. Every other candidate has been asked this question. This is not…
PORTER: And I said, I support it.
REPORTER: So the question is, what do you say to the 40% of voters who voted for Trump.
PORTER: Oh, I’m happy to say that. It’s the “do I need them to win” that I don’t understand. I’m happy to answer the question, ask the question as you have it written, and I’ll answer it.
REPORTER: And, we’ve also asked the other candidates, do you think you need any of those other 40 percent of California voters to win, and you’re saying no, you don’t?
PORTER: No, I’m saying that I’m going to try to win every vote I can, and what I’m saying to you is…(pauses)
REPORTER: Well, to those voters…
PORTER: I don’t want to keep doing this. I’m going to call it.
It’s at this point that the faux niceties end and Porter starts berating the reporter, presuming what she’s saying won’t be aired. To her credit, the reporter doesn’t let her rant without pushback.
REPORTER: You’re not going to do the interview with us?
PORTER: Nope, not like this, I’m not. Not with seven follow-ups to every question you ask.
REPORTER: Every candidate has answered everything on the list.
PORTER: I don’t care. I don’t care. I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation in which you ask me about every issue on this list, and if every question, you’re gonna make up a follow-up question, we’re never going to get there…
REPORTER: Ms. Porter, I’m an investigative reporter…
PORTER: I’ve never had to do this before, ever.
REPORTER: You’ve never had to have a conversation with a reporter?
PORTER: To end an interview.
REPORTER: Okay, but every other candidate has done this.
PORTER: What part of, I’m me, I’m running for governor because I’m a leader. So I am going to make..
REPORTER: So you’re not going to answer questions from reporters? Okay, why don’t we go through, I will continue to ask follow-up questions because that’s my job as a journalist, but I will go through and ask these, and if you don’t want to answer, you don’t have to answer.
PORTER: Ma’am, I don’t want to have an unhappy experience with you, and I don’t want this all on camera.
Well, so much for not having “this all on camera.” Based on her statements, it seems as if Porter thought she could end the interview and bully the network into not releasing the footage. They did, though, and it’s an awful look for a person who’s already swamped with a history of anger-related scandals. Throughout the exchange, Porter talks herself in circles while the reporter actually tries to re-center her several times. It was such a softball question, too. All she had to say was that she respects every voter and will not take a single vote for granted.
Porter isn’t capable of that, though, because as I said, she’s psychotic, and I don’t mean that as a generic political insult. I mean, she’s legitimately psychotic. She allegedly poured scalding potatoes on her ex-husband’s head, a revelation that came up during their divorce proceedings that Porter has all but admitted to. During her time in Congress, she falsely accused and verbally abused a Wounded Warrior who was sent to liaise with her office for supposedly giving her COVID-19. Porter kicked the military veteran out of the office despite her apologies.
