NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. () – The Splatter Place is where you can have with glow and the dark splatter rooms, games, and more.

On this episode of “Your Hometown Road Trip,” the team stopped in and spoke with owner Brandy Gunsolus about their journey, and what it means to get so much support from the community.

What is this place all about?

“When we started, we started in a much smaller place, right down the road from where we are now with just the splatter rooms, and it was fantastic, and we decided the community needs more, so we decided to expand. We have expanded to 401 W Martintown Road, still in North Augusta, and we still have our beloved splatter rooms, but they are now state of the art. They are a little bit bigger, and we have added on much more. We’ve got Nerf arena, we’ve got bubble soccer, we’ve got archery tag, we’ve got a play wall, a human crane, cornhole, street curling, we’ve got fowling. Do you know what fowling is? It’s football bowling, where you’re throwing a football.”

What made you decide to do all this?

“We pride ourselves on being different, and there’s lots of things to do out here in the CSRA, but we like to be different. So we started thinking, ‘What’s something different we can bring to the community?’ That’s something families can enjoy, something for all ages, that can be affordable, and that’s what we have looked to do, and this is what we’re trying to do here.”

Let’s go back. What made you decide to start this business?

“When we started, it was because of my daughter and grandson. They had gone to a splatter room in Texas, and I saw the face on my grandson. He was amazed with all of the color, and the paint, and my husband we always wanted to open up a business, but we didn’t know what, we just needed something for kids to do, and that’s why we opened up the Splatter Place. When we were open we wanted more, and we like to be different, we’re a little different ourselves, so it just kind of grew from there. The concept of what you see now just blossomed and here we are.”
