Demi Lovato’s former fiancé Max Ehrich has been arrested in Florida over an alleged domestic violence incident.
Ehrich, 34, was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of battery on a person 65 or older, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
The charge was reportedly related to a domestic violence incident involving one of the actor’s family members.
The incident comes after the Daily Mail obtained video of a disturbing TikTok livestream in which Erich appeared to shove his own mother.
It was part of a series of disturbing social media posts from before his arrest on Tuesday that left fans expressing concern.
The Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for Ehrich for comment but hasn’t yet received a response.

Max Ehrich, 34, who was previously engaged to Demi Lovato, was arrested Tuesday night in Florida following an alleged domestic violence incident involving a family member, according to law enforcement sources cited by TMZ on Wednesday; pictured in 2023 in Hollywood.

Earlier on Tuesday, fans expressed concern due to a series of troubling posts and livestreams from Ehrich; shown with Lovato in 2020.

Among the posts from before his arrest on Tuesday was a TikTok livestream obtained by Daily Mail that appeared to show Erich shoving his own mother
Even though Ehrich might be facing significant legal challenges, he is no longer in custody after posting a $1,000 bond, leading to his release earlier on Wednesday.
After seeing the Emmy-nominated actor’s erratic social media posts, one user said it appeared that Ehrich was ‘experiencing a mental health crisis’ in the clip, in which he was with his mother Rhonda.
The user cited similar behavior exhibited by other celebrities in describing what it appeared the Marlboro Township, New Jersey–born actor was going through.
‘Max Ehrich is pulling an Aaron Carter/Kanye West right now and it’s very concerning,’ the user said. ‘I really hope someone in his circle is able to intervene.’
One user said that Ehrich was ‘constantly going live on Instagram’ with ‘his poor mother crying in the corner.’
Video from a livestream on Tuesday obtained by the Daily Mail shows Erich shirtless and wearing thick black glasses as he walks around a house and appears to confront his mother, including giving her what looks like a shove.
Erich had the camera pointed toward his smiling face as he stalked the home, before turning it toward his mother, who had what looked like a fearful grimace on her face and held her hands in front of herself as if to defend herself.
After the shove, Erich’s mother put her face in her hands, before turning back toward the camera and shouting at him, though the clip was broadcast without any audio and doesn’t reveal what either party said.

At one point, Ehrich breathed out smoke from a vape pen that engulfed his mother, though it’s unclear what substance he was consuming
During the confrontation, he appeared to exhale a puff of smoke from some kind of vape pen that engulfed his mother, though it’s unclear what substance he was consuming.
Toward the end of the excerpt of the livestream, Erich begins walking away form his mother, whom he had backed into a corner, but he kept the camera trained on her before apparently placing his phone camera-side down next to a laptop on a counter.
Despite his mother’s presence in the concerning posts, it’s unclear if she was involved in the alleged domestic violence incident that he was arrested for.
Another said, ‘An actor I can’t even remember where I’ve seen him from, Max Ehrich, is live on IG attacking his mom…’
Other fans who commented on the video shared the shock and concern.
‘I am logging off. This is sickening to watch and everyone watching is making it worse!’ wrote one disturbed viewer.
Another clearly concerned fan wrote, ‘It’s OK max. You’re going to be OK but right now you need to get off live and let those who care for you, let them help you.’
Ehrich also posted to Instagram multiple times, including one of text that read ‘My heart is broken.’
Ehrich captioned the post ‘Link in bio give zelle to my mom,’ accompanied by his mother’s phone number.
Fans of Ehrich populated the comment section with concerned comments calling for some form of an intervention.
Said one user, ‘Where is his family? Mom, dad, grandparents, siblings, anyone?’ while another asked, ‘Does this man not have any family or PR team? Manager? Anybody?’

Ehrich played Fenmore Baldwin on 120 episodes of The Young and the Restless. He has also been seen in movies including High School Musical 3: Senior Year, A Cowboy Christmas Romance and Southern Gospel.
One fan said that Ehrich’s mercurial tone in consecutive posts made the situation tiresome: ‘Omg I am exhausted with this lol.’
Another said, ‘Every other hour or so it changes and why on your stories are your grabbing yourself while your mom is sitting on the floor right in front of you.
‘That just felt so wrong.’

Ehrich and Lovato began dating in March 2020 and got engaged in July of that year, but they split just two months later
Ehrich and Lovato dated in 2020, a year marked by chaos including the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and resultant lockdowns; massive social upheaval in the wake of the death of George Floyd; and a contested presidential election.
Ehrich and Lovato revealed they were engaged after four months, as they bonded in isolation during the strange time.
He proposed to her on July 23 of that year, and she took the Instagram to celebrate the news.
Lovato said at the time, ‘@maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.
She continued, ‘I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all.
‘You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself.’
Lovato concluded in saying, ‘I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you.
‘I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!’
However, the pair ended up calling off the engagement that September.
