It’s a film with a catchy name and a buzzy cast.
“If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” stars Rose Byrne as a wife and mom who’s dealing with her daughter’s mystery illness, an absentee husband and what looks to be a contentious relationship with her therapist, played by Conan O’Brien.
“I’m thrilled with the movie. I love it,” Rose Byrne told On The Red Carpet at the Sundance Film Festival, where “If I Had Legs I’d Kill You” made its debut.
Byrne touted the performance of her co-star O’Brien.
“We had a lot of fun. He was very respectful and very serious…very serious, but still funny,” she explained.
The film also stars Danielle Macdonald, Christian Slater and A$AP Rocky. It’s written and directed by Mary Bronstein.
It’s been making the festival rounds, with Rose Byrne winning the Silver Bear Award for best leading performance at the Berlin Film Festival. It screened at the Telluride, Toronto, London and New York Film Festivals.
Macdonald said the writing is what really sold her and she hopes audiences feel the same way.
“I was really moved by the script, so I hope that’s what they get from the end product,” she said.
“It’s so raw and funny… doesn’t pull any punches but it’s incredibly compelling and very entertaining,” Byrne added.
“If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” is in theaters Friday.
