ABC is turning up the heat with a dramatic line-up of Thursday night shows. Two are long-running, one is new, and, in one way or another, they all involve emergencies.
Season nine of “9-1-1” begins with a whale of a tale when guest star Mark Consuelos is saved from almost certain death. He plays a man with a lot of money who invites two of our firefighting heroes to take a trip into space. The premises are out-of-this-world… and star Ryan Guzman says fans should expect even more.
“The first one, we’ll kind of ease you into. Second and third ones, you’re definitely clutching your pearls,” said Guzman. “You’re definitely understanding the weight of the environment we’re in. There are so many things at play, and one of our main leads is going to be in a dire situation.”
The all-new “9-1-1: Nashville” comes next, and it’s dire there, too!
“There is a little bit of an overlay of, I don’t know if it’s ‘Dynasty’ or ‘Dallas’ or whatever it is,” said Chris O’Donnell. “But there is a wealthy family I’ve moved into and there’s a little bit of drama going on there.”
Also in the cast are Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and LeAnn Rimes, whose character is a mother and a singer.
“She’s trying to figure out where music fits into her life at this moment,” said Rimes. “So, I get to have a little fun with my voice on this show which, yeah, you’ll see.”
We’ll also see “Grey’s Anatomy” return for its 22nd season on Thursday. Last season ended with an explosion at the hospital. Now what?
“What we’ve shot so far — wait a second! I don’t know what I can reveal!” said Caterina Scorsone. “It’s a very intense opener.”
We’ll see the drama of all three shows on Thursday nights on ABC, streaming the next day on Hulu.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
