Wendy Osefo, who was arrested for fraud Thursday, was allegedly seen wearing her anniversary band after she and her husband, Eddie, reported the ring was missing.

Page Six confirmed that police became suspicious after the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star and Eddie received insurance money for the ring after their home was allegedly burglarized.

In April 2024, Wendy and Eddie claimed that their home had been broken into while they were on vacation in Jamaica. They claimed that several pricey items had been stolen, including designer bags and jewelry.

Per documents initially obtained by Us Weekly, authorities investigating their home noticed that “there was a screen with damage laying on the roof, and the window was not locked” and “to go in or out of that window, one has to step on the toilet.”

“The toilet lid was down and had no debris on it,” the documents read. “When Sheriff’s office personnel stepped onto the roof and back into the home, they tracked roof ‘grit’ back inside.”

Additionally, the filing claims that the Osefos had activated their home alarm system when they left for the trip and that “no motion [was] detected inside the residence” while they were gone.

“There was activity, such as package deliveries, on the ring camera that was monitored remotely by the Osefos,” the filing states.

Eddie allegedly went on to give statements to two different insurance companies to report missing items.

“He was asked whether any of the items on the list had been returned, which he denied. He was asked if he had other insurance but failed to disclose to Homesite and Jewelers that he was also making a claim with Travelers Insurance,” the documents state.

Both Eddie and Wendy, 41, signed statements claiming $2,500 for the building and $450,000 in property.

An attorney claimed that they were both wearing their anniversary bands when the loss occurred. However, Eddie later called one of the insurance companies to report that his wife’s gold diamond anniversary band was allegedly missing.

That same day, the claim was settled for $25,380 — which included the replacement price of $4,500 for Wendy’s anniversary band.

A police investigation later discovered that Wendy was seen in photos allegedly wearing the ring and also found that the pair was “burdened by substantial debt.”

Deputies determined that several items allegedly stolen had actually been purchased before being returned to the store, “where a full refund was provided prior to the alleged burglary.”

They were arrested and taken into custody by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Thursday after being charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and false statement to a police officer.

By Friday, a rep for the couple told Us Weekly that they were “back home safely with their family” and “in good spirits.”

“They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans and colleagues,” the statement read. “The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”

Their rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
