According to investigators, at least $20,000 worth of the reportedly stolen items had been returned where they had been bought.

WASHINGTON — Dr. Wendy Osefo, one of the stars of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” has been arrested on fraud charges along with her husband Eddie Osefo.

According to press release by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland, the pair fraudulently reported a burglary and theft.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded April 7, 2024 to a home in Finksburg after reports of a break-in.

“Upon arrival, they met with the homeowners who stated they returned from vacation to find that their home had been entered and numerous items had been stolen,” the statement said. “They reported approximately 80 items of jewelry, luxury goods, clothing, and shoes were stolen, worth a total of more than $200,000.”

According to investigators, at least $20,000 worth of the reportedly stolen items had been returned where they were bought by the Osefos.

The sheriff’s office said investigators also discovered photos of the couple wearing some of the jewelry they reported stolen. Investigators believe the photos were taken after the alleged burglary.

The pair were arrested Thursday, but were released on bail Friday.

The Real Housewives of Potomac, where Wendy Osefo is a star, is the eighth installment of the reality TV franchise. It launched in 2016, and follows the personal relationships and professional lives of several women living around Potomac, Maryland.

Osefo’s arrest comes just days after the premiere of the show’s 10th season, which she stars in.

She’s not the only cast member to have trouble with the law. Karen Huger, one of the original cast members, was booted from the show following a DUI conviction. Huger was sentenced to a two-year prison sentence with one year suspended for driving under the influence. Six months later, in September, she was released.

During the fifth season, cast members Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillar Bassett were involved in a physical altercation. Both were charged with second-degree assault, although all charges were later dropped.

Samuels didn’t return to the show’s sixth season, despite being invited back by the network.

It’s unclear if the currently-airing 10th season will address Osefo’s arrest.
