Bravo legend Luann de Lesseps has been keeping busy since her exit from The Real Housewives of New York City. The Countess has appeared on several Bravo spinoffs from Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake, to Bravo’s Love Hotel — and her schedule shows no signs of slowing down as she just made another appearance in the Canadian drama series, Murdoch Mysteries, and embarked on her latest cabaret tour, Welcome to the Lu-Niverse.

Just before jetting off to Toronto for her first set of shows, de Lesseps stopped by Decider’s studio to talk all about the exciting things going on in her life, including Welcome to the Lu-Niverse, in which she plans to look back at some of RHONY’s most iconic moments and share her perspective on how things actually happened.

“I feel blessed to keep on working the way I do,” de Lesseps said. “Cabaret really has been a lifesaver for me because the Housewives have been off for a while. This has been my major source of income in terms of my career right now.”

De Lesseps, who, along with the original RHONY cast, was replaced by a group of new ladies after Season 13, told us that she’s “hoping for another TV show very soon,” hinting that fans might “hear something” at BravoCon 2025, which kicks off in Las Vegas next month. The performer is also set to reunite with Dorinda Medley and Carole Radziwill at the convention.

“I think there’s a real thirst for the OGs to come back. I’ve heard through the grapevine,” she said, before later adding, “Let’s hope there’s some good announcements going on in terms of what’s coming next.”

When de Lesseps stopped by our studio, she also talked about her time on Murdoch Mysteries, why her daughter would be a perfect fit for future seasons of Next Gen NYC, and who would be in her dream RHONY cast. Check out the full interview below.

DECIDER: I’m so excited to have you back here. The last time we spoke to you was for Bravo’s Love Hotel, so I need to know: how are you and James doing? Are the two of you still in contact?

LUANN DE LESSEPS: We are. James and I have a special bond, and I think you saw that in the Love Hotel. We adore each other. He’s in Hawaii and I’m in New York. I always say it’s easier to get to Paris. But we’re in contact all the time. He’s great. I adore James.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, you have been so busy with so much, including your cabaret tour, “Welcome to the Lu-Niverse.” What can fans expect to see from your new show?

I travel with six guys. I’ve got tour managers, my musical director, makeup and hair, drums, bass player, etc. so I made a show which could support not having such a big band. It’s a look at the most iconic moments from the Housewives. What I do is peel back the layers and talk about what really happened from my perspective. It’s so much fun. I come out to [“Chic C’est La Vie”] and then I play clips of these iconic moments and then I spill the tea on what really happened, from the pirate to the photo at The Regency of Bethenny [Frankel]. All of that. Then I get into a Q&A with the audience. I get to talk to the audience, and they get to ask me whatever they want. And I can’t leave without giving them some money.

It’s a really fun show. It’s for smaller venues who don’t have the capacity for a baby grand piano. It’s so much fun. So I love the Lu-Niverse because they’re my Lunatics, right? They’re into cabaret. They’re into the Housewives. They’re into Love Hotel. They’re into Crappie Lake, even, with Sonja. I feel blessed to keep on working the way I do. Cabaret really has been a lifesaver for me because the Housewives have been off for a while. This has been my major source of income in terms of my career right now. I’m hoping for another TV show very soon. Maybe we’ll hear something at BravoCon. It’s been a great ride.

I’ve seen your show in the past. So much fun. Everybody needs to go see it at least once. For a Bravo fan, it’s just everything.

Right. It’s always changing. My next tour will be about Love Hotel. It’s going to be the Love Tour. I’ll dive more into that show, and the music that kind of goes along with that. So what I do for a cabaret is I pick a song that I really love, and then I go, “Okay, well, what story is going to get me into that song?” And then, of course, it has to be the perfect Jovani dress that kind of goes along with it. It’s really fun. I love the creative part. I’m doing cabaret and Lu-Niverse shows. So even in that show, it’s like, “What clip can I pull that they want to know all the deets and what really happened?” It’s a lot of fun and I think the fans are really enjoying it. So it’s nice.

You’ve also been doing a bit of acting. On last season of Murdoch Mysteries, you played Noelle Victoria, and you’re reprising the role again this season. How did this opportunity come to be? And how did you get them to name the character after your children?

Somebody that works on Murdoch, his name is Ian Christensen, who’s fantastic. And actually Nora Lawlor who actually put us together, who’s in PR. He had the idea that we need something totally different for this season because it’s Season 19. I actually was in the last season. I had a smaller part and they wrote me a bigger part. I’m the performer that I am, in 1914. I’m a showgirl, which is very bawdy for that time. And I’m married to the mayor, who is a scoundrel. I love words from those [times]. He’s a scoundrel. And I have a crush on Mr. Murdoch. It was so much fun. They’re so supportive. They’ve been amazing. I do scripted shows, sure. I’ve done Law and Order, I’ve done Royal Pains and other shows, but I’ve never done a time period piece like this. It was really fabulous to play this role, to have the name of my children, and to have the people at Murdoch so supportive because, listen, if I mess up–they do this every day, so I don’t want to keep them behind schedule. I had to know my lines, and I had a lot of lines on this role. So I’m really looking forward for people to see it. It just just aired last night.

Your character is this glamorous woman, so I’m sure there wasn’t much prep needed in that department. But did you get ready to take on this role?

I think they kind of wrote this part for me. I am a showgirl. You’re right. I worked in Italian television. I was a showgirl before I was ever on the Housewives or doing cabaret. It was just perfect alignment. It’s like Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart. It’s an odd pairing, but somehow I think it really works. Prepping, they were like, “No makeup, not really much makeup, because it’s 1900. They didn’t have a lot of makeup.” So I was like, “Can I have a little bit more makeup?” But just prepping with the lines was really the work for me. And it was challenging. But I like a good challenge.

It sounds like we need to get a collab between you and Taylor Swift right now with all this showgirl talk.

That would be great, wouldn’t it?

Switching gears a little bit. I was very excited to see you, Dorinda, and Carole on the BravoCon lineup. Are you excited to reunite with them again in Vegas?

Dorinda and I are very tight. I see her all the time. We talk a lot. And, Carole, I’ve been running into her as of recently. I have no bad blood with Carole, so I’m looking forward to seeing her at BravoCon.

There’s been this appetite for New York-based shows. Other than RHONY, we had Next Gen NYC, and now we’re getting In The City. Any chance we’ll see you and the other gals on our screens again any time soon? What would you want that to look like?

I think that we all have our lives. Sonja is in Florida, Ramona is in Florida, Jill’s in Florida. So maybe there’s a little OG Florida action going on. I don’t know, Golden Girl-ish. The OG’s hit Florida. And so you have Next Gen. It’s never been my daughter’s thing. My kids are both artists, Noelle and Victoria. But she said recently, “You know, I really like Next Gen.” She’s been watching it and I go, “Well, you should be on that show.” So, we’ll see what happens. She’s already had a casting call. So let’s see.

That would be great. We need more of all of you on our screens.

We need Victoria on there. She’s into singing. Victoria was on my track for “Girl Code.” She was on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live performing with me. I want her in my cabaret shows coming up. She’s never really wanted to do that, but now she’s into it and she’s a great songwriter, a great singer. So I think she can bring a lot to Next Gen

There’s been a lot of talk lately about the future of RHONY and now more than ever I’m seeing people wonder whether it will be a mix of OGs and newbies in the next season. If you could cast the next season of RHONY, who would be in your dream casting lineup?

Let’s see. I think it has to be, of course, myself, Sonja. Dorinda. I think we need a little Ramona because we need some crazy eyes. I’d like to see Kelly [Bensimon] back. What about Wainstein? Whatever happened to Wainstein? She’s in Florida. I’m blanking on her first name. Jules Wainstein. Maybe we bring Jenna Lyons. I think that would be good. She would fit in very well. Erin [Lichy]. I saw Ubah [Hassan] last night in Greenwich. I was in Greenwich last night, and I saw Ubah randomly walking down the street. Maybe a Ubah little action. Brynn [Whitfield] has always been my favorite. Who knows? But I think there’s a real thirst for the OGs to come back. I’ve heard through the grapevine.

I was recently telling Dorinda that when producers come knocking on all your doors again, you better say yes.

I always say we’re gonna cross that bridge when we get to it. Let’s see. I expect BravoCon, where I’m doing my cabaret on November 14th, I’ll be at the House of Blues … Let’s hope there’s some good announcements going on in terms of what’s coming next.

Do you have any other projects you can tease?

Besides working on my Lu-Niverse shows and Countess Cabaret etc., I’m working on a new song, so I’m excited about that. It’s a classic, but made for dance. I’m super excited. I’m working with the producer from Florence & The Machines. I mean, more of Murdoch, more acting and hopefully hosting.

That would be great. I feel like anywhere we can see you is perfect. We need to see you on screen, on stage, everything.

It’s what I do. I host. You come to my cabaret. It’s like you’re on my living room couch. Sit down and enjoy the ride. That’s what I do, and that’s what I love to do. I feel very blessed to have a career after the Housewives and have done so many spinoffs on Peacock for Crappie Lake and Love Hotel
