Young is best known for his hits folk rock “Heart of Gold,” “Harvest Moon” and “Down by the River.”

USA, — Neil Young, the “Heart of Gold” artist, said he’s pulling his work from Amazon Music in protest of the company’s CEO and recent actions.

The Neil Young Archives website posted Wednesday about how he made the decision to “save America from the Corporate Control Age” and protest Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ politics.

“Forget Amazon and Whole Foods. Forget Facebook,” Young said in a post on the website Wednesday. “Buy local. Buy direct. Bezos supports this government. It does not support you or me.”

As of Saturday, Young’s decades of music is still available to listen to on Amazon Music. His post only says his music will be removed “soon” and didn’t give any specific dates.

The call to boycott the company comes weeks after 79-year-old Young stopped using Instagram and Facebook accounts in response to a Reuters investigation about how parent company Meta uses chatbots with children.

A day after the report was published, Young’s Instagram account posted explaining why it would no longer be updated.

“At Neil Young’s request, we are no longer using Instagram for any Neil Young related activities. Meta’s use of chatbots with children is unconscionable,” the caption read. “Mr. Young does not want a further connection with that company.”

Young previously pulled his music off streaming platform Spotify in 2022 to protest their deal with podcaster Joe Rogan over his anti-coronavirus vaccine comments and use of racial slurs. The music was reinstated on the platform two years later.

Young is best known for his folk rock music from the 70s and songs like “Heart of Gold,” “Harvest Moon” and “Down by the River.”
