Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau are proving there are clearly some fireworks between them.

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail on Saturday, October 11, Perry, 40, could be seen kissing and cuddling Trudeau, 53, on board her Caravelle yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

Perry, who officially ended her six-year engagement to Orlando Bloom in June, rocked a black one-piece swimsuit while packing on the PDA with a shirtless Trudeau, who kept it casual in a pair of jeans and sunglasses. In one photo, he wrapped his arms around Perry, his hand on her butt, as she nuzzled his neck.

Us Weekly has reached out to Perry’s and Trudeau’s reps for comment.

Romance rumors have been swirling around Perry and Trudeau after they were first spotted together in Montreal over the summer. The pair were seen walking Perry’s dog, Nugget, through Mount Royal Park on July 28 before they enjoyed dinner at Le Violon later that night.

Trudeau was then spotted standing nearly front row at Perry’s July 30 Lifetimes Tour concert in Montreal. Per footage circulated online, Trudeau could be seen nodding his head to the music and smiling as she performed one of her hits on stage.

Nearly two months later, sources told Us Weekly that the pair were quietly seeing each other.

“They’ve decided to be much more private about it,” one source said in September. “They are still speaking and are very interested in each other.”

A second insider noted that Perry and Trudeau’s relationship “isn’t serious” because she is “extremely busy right now” on tour, which is currently in England. (The Lifetimes Tour is scheduled to conclude at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Park on December 7.)

“Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating,” the source told Us.

The “Teenage Dream” singer seemingly moved on with the politician shortly after her split from ex-fiancé Bloom, 48, with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy. Us reported on June 25 that Perry and the Lord of the Rings actor had amicably split after nearly a decade of on-and-off romance.

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” their reps later confirmed in a statement. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

Bloom addressed the breakup for the first time during a September interview on the Today show.

“I’m great, man. I’m so grateful. We have the most beautiful daughter,” he told host Craig Melvin, adding, “We’re great. We’re going to be great. It’s nothing but love.”

Prior to their relationship, Perry was briefly married to Russell Brand until 2012 and Bloom ended his three-year marriage to Miranda Kerr in 2013. The actor and the model share a 14-year-old son, Flynn.

Trudeau, for his part, announced his separation from his ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage and three children: 17-year-old son Xavier, 16-year-old daughter Ella-Grace and 11-year-old son Hadrien.
