HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES — Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress Naomi Watts is the latest star to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The celebrated actress officially received her star during a ceremony held on Monday.

Watts’ career has spanned 25 years — from her breakout role in David Lynch’s L.A. cult classic “Mulholland Drive,” to her recent run of collaborations with writer-producer Ryan Murphy.

At the star unveiling, Watts was surrounded by a supportive group, including her husband Billy Crudup and a lineup of notable actors such as Jack Black, Kyle MacLachlan, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash, among others.

Reflecting on this milestone, Watts shared that being recognized on the Walk of Fame was beyond anything she could have imagined.

“I’m out of my body right now, but I do think later I will look back on this moment, even tonight, and feel immense pride and excitement. You know, there was all that going into it, it’s just surreal at the same time. But yeah, a lot of hard work, and you know, resilience,” Watts said. “I nearly quit many times. I just didn’t know what else to do or what I was qualified to do, and I love acting. It’s a privilege to get to tell stories.”

“You will never have more fun than making a film with Naomi. She is the highest talent-to-lowest pretension ratio of anybody. She’s stilletos on the red carpet and sketchers in rehearsal on set,” fellow actor Edward Norton said.

“A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of our industry’s top honors. It’s the Viagra of awards. You are only gifted this rare achievement if you last,” Murphy said.

Next month, Watts will star in Murphy’s new all-star ensemble Hulu series “All’s Fair,” playing a member of a group of female divorce attorneys who leave a male-dominated office to open their own firm.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
