SAVANNAH, Ga. — At , our commitment to raising awareness about breast cancer remains steadfast, as we continue our efforts to promote early detection and save lives.
This October, recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have organized a series of events under our Buddy Check 3 initiative, designed to educate and empower individuals about this critical health issue.
Recently, on a Saturday, Tina Tyus-Shaw had the honor of speaking at the Saint James AME Church located on East Broad Street. During the Women’s Missionary Society Savannah Area Conference, Tina emphasized the vital importance of regular breast mammograms and conducting monthly breast self-examinations.
This past Saturday ‘s Tina Tyus-Shaw was invited to speak at Saint James AME Church on East Broad Street.
Tina shared information during their Women’s Missionary Society Savannah Area Conference about the importance of having a breast mammogram and also doing the monthly breast self-exam exams.
Many of the women say they are committed to their breast health.
Some told Tina they already have an appointment for a mammogram scheduled.
The conversation also focused on sharing the information with their family members, coworkers and friends.
That is what Buddy Check 3 is all about.
One church member thanked Tina for supporting her daughter, who is going through her breast cancer journey right now.
