In Wichita, Kansas, local authorities are actively searching for a woman believed to have been forcibly abducted, and they have released surveillance footage of the incident in hopes of gathering more information.

The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Sunday, around 2 a.m. local time, as per the Wichita Police Department’s statements.

As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, police said they haven’t been able to identify the man or woman in the video.

“We’ve worked throughout the day on this investigation, following up on numerous leads, and we appreciate the public’s help,” WPD said on Facebook. “Exploring all options, we’ve reached out to our regional and federal law enforcement partners for additional assistance.”

Investigators shared the video with the public with reduced background noise in hopes that someone would recognize the voice of the woman, who can be heard screaming.

Police asked that if anyone recognizes either the man or the woman, they contact 911. Information can also be provided to WPD detectives at 316-268-4407.
