Charli XCX has chosen to remain silent amidst speculation about a rumored feud with fellow pop sensation Taylor Swift. Fans have been buzzing about Swift’s latest track, “Actually Romantic,” from her album “The Life of A Showgirl,” suggesting that the song is a veiled jab at Charli.

The 35-year-old singer’s new release has sparked widespread curiosity, with many interpreting the lyrics as directed at the 33-year-old British artist. However, when Vanity Fair approached Charli for her take on the situation during a recent cover story interview, she opted not to address the rumors directly.

Charli XCX has issued a ‘no response’ response to rumored enemy Taylor Swift’s purported diss track against her.

Fans believe the 35-year-old singer’s song Actually Romantic, off her The Life of A Showgirl album, is aimed at Charli, 33.

When asked about it in her new Vanity Fair cover story, the British pop star ‘declined to comment on the situation.’

It comes days after Saturday Night Live viewers were convinced Charli shaded Taylor while wearing a Kansas City T-shirt during her cameo appearance with musical guest Role Model.

Fans speculated online that her shirt was a reference to Taylor — whose fiancé Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.

But some pointed out that the top, which Role Model also wore at one point during the broadcast, is from his merch line.

Charli’s last album, 2024’s hugely successful project titled Brat, included the song Sympathy is a knife, whose lyrics fans have interpreted to reference Taylor.

Also included on the LP is a song called Everything is romantic, which would tie into fans’ theory that Taylor’s Actually Romantic is Charli-related.

Actually Romantic includes the line, ‘I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave.’

Following Charli’s TV appearance, one viewer wrote on X, ‘Iconic cameo and that ‘Boring Barbie’ top is the petty cherry on top!’

The person added: ‘Charli and Role Model just owned SNL!’

And one social media user wrote that Taylor is ‘screaming into her pillows’ after the Charli cameo.

Others were on Taylor’s side and wrote: ‘The KC T-shirt… oh tiny chihuahua, you will be dealt with,’ referencing a line from Actually Romantic.

Another said: ‘OK and how [long] has Charli been going around and talking s*** about Taylor? SHE’S too old to be doing this.’

Speaking with Amazon Music recently, the blonde hitmaker broke down the meaning of her buzzy track Actually Romantic.

‘Actually Romantic is a song about realizing that someone else has kind of had a one-sided adversarial relationship with you that you didn’t know about,’ she explained.

The songwriter added, ‘And all of a sudden they start doing too much, and they start letting you know that, actually, you’ve been living in their head rent free and you had no idea.’

She continued, ‘It’s presenting itself as them sort of resenting or having a problem with you, but taking that and you just accepting that as love, and you just accepting it as attention and affection.

‘How flattering that someone has made you such a big part of their reality and you didn’t even think about this. It’s actually pretty romantic if you really, really think about it.’

Neither Charli nor Taylor has confirmed or denied their rumored fallout.
