Authorities at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have announced that three individuals are now facing felony charges.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Tuesday evening, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of three individuals linked to an incident where a vehicle collided with a furniture store on Dunn Avenue.
The incident occurred on Sunday, October 12, when officers were dispatched to Furniture Mattress Depot in response to a vehicle crash that resulted in a fire. Further investigation revealed that the car involved in the incident had been stolen.
Surveillance footage from the store captured three people fleeing the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday night, officers encountered three individuals who matched the descriptions from the surveillance video. They were seen running from a residence after officers heard what sounded like a gunshot. Upon questioning, the officers identified these individuals as the suspects involved in the crash and subsequently arrested them.
Bernard McClendon, 18, and the two others, a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old, each face a felony charge.
JSO released the following statement:
“We’ve shared this before, but we’ll say it again. Parents and family members, please get involved in your children’s lives. This group made a choice, and that choice led to the destruction of a family’s business. Now, this trio will face the consequences of their actions.”
