A Florida woman is facing serious charges following her arrest on Monday for allegedly coercing her 11-year-old daughter into performing sexual acts on camera.
Authorities in Pinellas County were tipped off last Friday about a 38-year-old man reportedly in possession of child pornography and arranging encounters with minors for sexual activities. According to Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, the investigation revealed that the man had been receiving explicit videos from a woman who had recorded her young daughter engaging in sexual acts, including with a dog, as reported by WTSP.
The mother, whose identity remains undisclosed, is also accused of capturing herself on video while abusing both her daughter and the dog using sex toys.
Sheriff Gualtieri disclosed that the woman distributed a total of 14 explicit videos, which were made between March and April.
“The acts committed by the mother against her daughter are not only explicit but also deeply disturbing,” Gualtieri stated, referencing a report from WTVT.
Gualtieri said officers who executed a search warrant on Monday arrested the mother after she confessed to sexually abusing her daughter.
The mother was charged with capital sexual battery, molestation, transmission of child pornography, sexual performance by a child, sexual activity involving a child and animals, aggravated child abuse, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
In 2023, Florida passed a law permitting the death penalty in sexual battery cases involving victims younger than 12. Gualtieri confirmed this case would fall under this law.
“These acts constitute sexual battery or, as commonly referred to, as rape, and because of the child’s age, the mother’s crimes are capital offenses punishable by death,” he commented.
According to Gualtieri, there is no indication the victim’s sibling was involved. He also said they believe the victim’s father was not aware of the abuse.
The mother and male suspect are believed to have met online. Police are investigating how much money was exchanged between them. They are also looking into whether the videos were sent to more people, according to WFLA.
The woman had her first court appearance on Tuesday and was ordered to remain jailed.
