Ben’s Original is recalling certain batches of its Ready Rice products across the United States due to the risk of contamination with small stones that could potentially cause harm if ingested.

In a notice released by the Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday, Ben’s Original announced the voluntary recall of specific Ready Rice products, including Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild varieties. These products, available at various major retailers nationwide, may contain small stones that naturally occur on rice farms.

The presence of these stones could lead to oral or digestive tract injuries if consumed, as highlighted in the FDA’s recall notice. Ben’s Original has assured consumers that they are actively working to remove all affected products from store shelves to prevent any potential injuries.

Importantly, the company has reported that there have been no injuries or illnesses linked to the recalled products thus far.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported.

Recalled Ben’s Original Ready Rice products

The recall is limited to products with specific batch codes and “best by” dates printed on the bottom seal of the package back. Affected items were sold at HEB, Target, Amazon, United Markets and Piggly Wiggly stores, though other retailers may have received the products through distributors between August and September.

Recalled products include:

Long Grain White Rice: Batch codes 533ELGRV22 and 534ALGRV22, best by date 8/2026, sold at HEB.

Whole Grain Brown Rice: Batch codes 534AMGRV22, 534BMGRV22 and 534DMGRV22, best by date 8/2026, sold at Target and HEB.

Long Grain & Wild Rice: Batch codes 533BMGRV22, 533CLGRV22 and 533CMGRV22, best by date 8/2026, sold at HEB, Amazon, United Markets and Piggly Wiggly.

No other Ben’s Original products are affected. Customers who purchased the recalled products should not eat them. Ben’s Original is offering returns and refunds.

Customers with questions can contact Ben’s Original Consumer Care at 1-800-548-6253 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central time, or Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central time.
