Being Kim Kardashian comes with unique perks and challenges that set her apart from the average person. During a candid discussion on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, aired on Wednesday, October 15, Kardashian, 44, revealed an aspect of her life that many would find surprising.
“I honestly don’t have a grasp on the cost of everyday items,” she confessed. “For instance, I’d really like to know how much a carton of milk costs.” This admission highlights a disconnect that can occur when living in a world of luxury.
In her conversation, Kardashian also acknowledged her significant expenditure on maintaining her appearance. “I spend a lot on my glam team every year,” she noted, although she couldn’t specify the exact amount. However, she elaborated on how she manages these expenses. “When I’m filming my show, the production covers it. If it’s for work, they handle the payment. I try to have it all taken care of so that I don’t have to pay out of pocket.”
The podcast episode was not only a glimpse into Kardashian’s extravagant lifestyle but also an intimate look at her personal life, including her past relationship with Kanye West. Kardashian shared insights into the complexities of her marriage, admitting, “When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave than it is to stay.” Her honest reflections offered a rare window into the struggles that accompany both fame and family commitments.
Kardashian really took the time to “tally” what an estimated total would be.
“I should know this, actually,” she said. “It could be a million dollars, this hair isn’t cheap.”
She subsequently confirmed that there’s no way that her glam bill reaches five million dollars.

During the episode, Kardashian also discussed the (multiple) times she’s broken the internet throughout her career. The first? When she x-rayed her butt in 2011 to debunk rumors of an implant.
“Wasn’t that ridiculous that that’s a thing?” Kardashian recalled. “But it was fun. I think we even said like, ‘Oh, my gosh, let’s go do this.’”
When it comes to plastic surgery, however, Kardashian made it clear that she did not have a facelift when fans were convinced she went under the knife in 2021.
“Call Her Daddy” podcast host Alex Cooper asked Kardashian to explain her 2021 Balenciaga Met Gala look. You know, the all-black outfit that covered her entire face.
“I was committed. I was really nervous wearing that,” Kardashian recalled, noting that she almost didn’t wear the facemask. She also shut down speculation that the outfit was designed to hide facelift scars.
“That’s insane. I would absolutely love to show it off if I did. But no, I didn’t,” Kardashian continued. “That was years ago. I would have been like … I don’t know, maybe people do them earlier these days, but no.”
Cooper took Kardashian through her prolific reality TV career, asking what the Skims founder wanted from their reality show following its 2007 premiere. (Keeping Up With the Kardashians aired for 20 seasons on E! The family moved to Hulu in 2022 for The Kardashians, which is gearing up for its seventh season.)
“I just wanted to be famous. That was like the goal for me at that time. I thought this was so fun, so cool. I didn’t even think we’d get to a second season,” Kardashian recalled. “A long-term goal plan wasn’t in my thought process at that point.”
She continued,” I was really business-oriented, always. So, I would have worked and wanted to do anything. I would have done any of that when the show opportunity came about. I was just like, ‘This is our moment. This is our time.’”
Kardashian said that the show strengthened her family’s bond over the years.
“Having to get up every day and work with your family. I mean, it would break a lot of people,” Kardashian said. “It really brought us so close together.”
