Angel Reese made waves at the latest Victoria’s Secret event in New York City on Wednesday evening, becoming the first professional athlete to grace the runway at this iconic show.

The Chicago Sky basketball star was among several celebrities who strutted down the catwalk, captivating the audience with her bold and daring ensemble during the brand’s prestigious ‘Wings Reveal’ event.

Currently enjoying her off-season from the WNBA, Reese made two memorable appearances on the runway, showcasing her versatility beyond the basketball court.

Before the event kicked off, Reese expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “It was destined for me.”

She added, “This is exactly where I belong. I’m thrilled to be surrounded by such incredible models and women. The team behind this event has been phenomenal. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Reese said she hired a modeling coach to ‘perfect my walk’. ‘I walk, sleep, hoop,’ she said. ‘And I hoop, sleep, walk.’

The 23-year-old was joined by Olympic gymnast Suni Lee, who also graced the runway with her presence along the Brooklyn waterfront.

A number of other high-profile names were also in attendance in the Big Apple, including Madison Beer – the girlfriend of Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert – Gigi Hadid, Karol G and Missy Elliott.

Reese made her debut on the Victoria Secret runway wearing pink floral lingerie set adorned with blossoms and lace detailing, paired with a dramatic feathered stole draped across her arms. The wrap was covered in soft pink and rose-toned textures.

The 6-foot-3 Reese donned the signature angel white wings that have defined the show for decades, a new stage for an athlete known for her confidence, charisma and crossover appeal.

She walked to the tune of Lumidee’s ‘Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh.)’

Ahead of the show, Lee and Reese stripped down to their underwear and pulled on some glamorous pink-and-white robes while getting their hair and makeup done backstage.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast Suni broke the news of her Victoria’s Secret honor on Wednesday, describing it as a ‘dream come true’.

The pair even posed for a couple of snaps together backstage hours out from the show, while Reese also took a photo with American model Precious Lee and British makeup artist Pat McGrath.

It was far from the first time Suni or Angel modeled for a major brand, nevertheless.

Lee recently worked on Travis Kelce’s collab with American Eagle alongside several other athletes, while she has also secured partnerships with the likes of Lululemon and HOKA in the past.

As for Reese, she is an ambassador for a host of brands including Reebok, Juicy Couture and more.

Unlike in the modeling world on Wednesday night, Reese has had a little bit less to celebrate in the WNBA this year.

Her second season with the team ended with them once again missing out on the playoffs. Their 10-34 record saw them finish last in the Eastern Conference.

But Reese missed the final few games after giving an explosive interview to the Chicago Tribune, hitting out at the way the team was being run and hinting she could leave.

‘I’m not settling for the same s*** we did this year,’ she said. ‘We have to get good players. We have to get great players.

‘That’s a non-negotiable for me. We can’t settle for what we have this year.’
