In the latest developments of Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor, Mel Owens, the 66-year-old ex-NFL player-turned-lawyer and reality TV star, has narrowed down his choices to the final three contestants.
On the episode that aired Wednesday, October 15, Mel presented roses to Peg, Debbie, and Cindy, securing them the much-anticipated hometown dates on the ABC show.
Addressing the six women before the ceremony, Mel acknowledged the importance of familial approval, stating, “Your families are your biggest advocates and have your best interests at heart. If you receive a rose tonight, it means we will be spending meaningful time together. This decision is not one I take lightly, and I hold each of you in high regard.”
As the ceremony unfolded, Mel bid farewell to Cheryl, who had openly expressed her growing feelings for him. Nicolle, the season’s notorious antagonist, also exited, using her limo departure as an opportunity to campaign for her own season of The Golden Bachelorette. Meanwhile, Carol chose to leave earlier in the episode, concluding that Mel was not her perfect match.
The Golden Bachelor continues to captivate audiences, airing on ABC every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more insights into the final three contestants.

“I’ve kissed a lot of toads out there, it would be nice to find the good guy out there, finally,” Peg told her daughter over FaceTime during Wednesday’s episode. “I have feelings for him. “I am feeling great about Mel,” Cindy told the cameras. “I enjoy being with him. He is such a great man. I am definitely over the moon, crazy about Mel Owens. I am falling, falling fast and I do feel like the stars are aligning for us.”
During a FaceTime with her daughter, Cindy added that Mel is “everything” that she had been looking for. “I see a forever with Mr. Mel Owens,” she said. “It’s not just a little bit scary, it’s a lot scary. I wanted to fall in love, but what if he doesn’t catch me?”
