Abdul Robinson Jr., 30, originally charged with first-degree murder in the case concerning Charles McCormick’s death, altered his legal course by pleading guilty before his trial commenced.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Wednesday, Abdul Robinson Jr., the sibling of Jacksonville rapper Ksoo, received a 12-year prison sentence handed down by a Duval County court. This followed his guilty plea to being an accessory after the fact in connection with a murder that resulted in his brother’s life sentence.

Robinson Jr. initially faced a first-degree murder charge related to the killing of Charles McCormick, but opted for a guilty plea before the trial could proceed.

His brother, Ksoo, known legally as Hakeem Robinson, alongside Leroy Whitaker Jr., received life sentences on October 1 for their involvement in McCormick’s murder.

During the trial of Robinson and Whitaker, Dominique Barner, known by the alias “Butta,” testified as a confessed accomplice. He detailed that he, along with Robinson, Robinson Jr., and Whitaker, orchestrated a plan to murder McCormick, emphasizing that all were united in their intent to kill him.

Prosecutors said Robinson killed McCormick because of gang conflicts and a “diss track” he released making fun of Robinson’s stepbrother’s death.

McCormick was 23 years old.
