Vermilion Advantage Appoints Temporary CEO Following Misconduct Claims

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Following the resignation of Mike Marron, Vermilion Advantage has announced the appointment of an Interim CEO to lead the organization.

According to a press release, the Board of Directors, led by Chairperson Gary Tucker, has selected Tracy Wahlfeldt to step into the role. Wahlfeldt will begin her interim leadership on October 27, guiding the organization while a thorough search for a permanent CEO is conducted.

Wahlfeldt brings over two decades of expertise in leadership, community involvement, and economic development, Tucker noted. Her previous roles include serving as Director of Economic Development at Vermilion Advantage from 2003 to 2008 and as the Executive Director for the foundations at Danville Area Community College and Parkland College until her recent retirement.

Before embarking on her journey in education and economic growth, Wahlfeldt gathered valuable experience at Old National Bank and Hyster Company/NACCO Industries.

“Tracy’s proven leadership, community relationships, and understanding of Vermilion County’s economic landscape make her an excellent choice to guide the organization during this transition,” Tucker said. “We are confident she will continue to advance our mission of supporting business growth and workforce development.”
