Watford has introduced a unique kit in tribute to their legendary fan and former chairman, Sir Elton John.

The jersey takes inspiration from the cover art of Elton’s 2017 greatest hits compilation, “Diamonds.” It features a subtle star pattern across the front, complemented by a silver Watford emblem and Kelme logos, along with the club’s vintage Happy Hornet badge adorning the hem.

Additional star accents embellish the collar and cuffs, while the back is inscribed with lyrics from his timeless hit, “Your Song.”

Collaboratively designed with Elton himself, this special kit will make its debut when the Hornets face Blackburn Rovers in their Championship match.

This release heralds the start of festivities commemorating the 50th anniversary of Elton John’s chairmanship, a tenure beginning in 1976 during which he steered the club from the Fourth to the First Division.

To launch the release, current players recreated some of Elton’s most famous album covers in full kit. Defender Kevin Keben channelled “Jump Up!” with a bowler hat, while Mattie Pollock paid tribute to “Rock of the Westies”.

Half music, half football, all Watford – this one’s a showstopper worthy of the Rocket Man himself.
