Blake Lively’s earnings for her role in the much-discussed film “It Ends With Us” have come to light, shedding new insight into the business of Hollywood. The 38-year-old actress portrayed Lily Bloom, starring alongside Justin Baldoni, 41, in this romantic drama. However, their collaboration has been clouded by a legal dispute related to the film’s production.

According to a report by Alison Boshoff in the Daily Mail, court documents reveal that Lively received £1.3 million for her involvement in the six-week project. This salary translates to a daily rate of over £43,000, highlighting the lucrative nature of film contracts for top-tier actors.

Further incentives were built into Lively’s contract, including a £149,000 bonus contingent on winning an Oscar for her portrayal of the florist Lily Bloom, and £74,000 if she merely snagged a nomination. These figures underscore Hollywood’s practice of rewarding award-winning performances handsomely.

Moreover, Lively and her company were promised an additional £186,000 if the film, which hit UK cinemas last August, managed to generate more than three times its production budget at the box office. Such clauses emphasize the high stakes and potential rewards tied to a film’s commercial success.

In addition, Blake and her company were to receive a bonus of £186,000 if the movie, which was released in the UK in August of last year, grossed more than three times its budget at the box office.

The movie follows florist Lily Bloom, whose abusive relationship with Ryle Kincaid (Justin) is compounded when her ex-boyfriend Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar) re-enters her life.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics, but was a box office success, grossing £261million worldwide against a £18million budget.

It comes days after Justin’s former agent accused Blake of ‘extortion’ as the never-ending legal war centered around the movie It Ends With Us intensifies even more.

According to a deposition transcript obtained by Daily Mail, the filmmaker’s former agent, Danny Greenberg, had claimed that Blake’s behaviour on set and in post-production was increasingly volatile and even went as far as describing it as ‘extortion’ in July 2024 communications with Justin.

Danny helped Justin draft emails to Sony referencing Blake’s alleged ‘continued extortion and effort to gain control of the film’.

Danny went on to clarify his use of the word ‘extortion,’ as he said he was referring to the cumulative behaviour and mounting pressure from both Wayfarer and Sony Studios and not literal criminal extortion.

Daily Mail has reached out to Blake’s representatives for comment and has yet to hear back. Justin’s reps have refused to comment.

In December 2024, the actress sued Justin for allegedly sexually harassing her on set – claims he denied – before he and Wayfarer Studios fired back with a defamation suit against Blake, her publicist Leslie Sloane and husband Ryan Reynolds.

Justin also waged war with The New York Times, filing a $400million defamation lawsuit against the publication over its bombshell tell-all on Blake’s sexual harassment claims against her former co-star on December 31, 2024.

Now, the Daily Mail has revealed that legal documents show the actress was paid £1.3million for taking part in the six-week shoot, which worked out to just over £43,000 a day

Her agents also must have been feeling optimistic because there was also a bonus of £149,000 up for grabs if she won an Oscar for her role as florist Lily Bloom, as well as £74,000 for a nomination

The New York Times contested the claim and the lawsuit was ultimately dismissed in June 2025; however, earlier this month the publication filed a complaint ‘to recover costs, fees and expenses incurred.’

In the new legal documents obtained by Daily Mail, Blake’s make-up artist Vivian Baker said the incidents characterised as ‘inappropriate’ had all occurred during the first phase of filming and that things ‘seemed to be going well’.

Meanwhile, Blake’s talent agent, Warren Zavala, seemed to reiterate those claims as he said he was not aware of any incidents that had made Blake uncomfortable during the second phase of filming.

He did, however, say that he did become aware of his client’s complaints during the ‘post process’ while testing a cut of the film.

Blake’s representative told People: ‘The court already dismissed their so-called taking over a movie claim, and this cherry-picked deposition quote from Baldoni’s prior agent before he was dropped from WME adds nothing new.

‘The court’s dismissal even assumed their allegations were true for the sake of argument — and still held that they don’t amount to a valid claim under the law. This is a legal process, not a clickbait one. This is just a recycled distraction that has nothing to do with the actual sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit Baldoni and the Wayfarer Defendants are facing.’

This comes just days after details from Blake’s alleged unsigned draft contract for It Ends Like Us were revealed amid the ongoing Baldoni lawsuit.

The actress, who was not mentioned by husband Ryan during a recent speaking engagement, was to be paid over $1.7million in addition to several potential bonuses, according to Us Weekly on Friday.

On Thursday, Justin – who was hit with fresh harassment claims last month –  and his team unsealed court documents they had filed in their ongoing legal battle with Blake over the 2024 film.

The copy of the contract – dated May 5, 2023 – was not signed by Blake, as it was said that the actress was to be paid $1.75million in ‘fixed’ compensation to star in the film.

The Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Blake for comment and has yet to hear back.
