In a shocking incident near the University of Cincinnati on Friday evening, a third-floor balcony gave way, resulting in 10 individuals being rushed to the hospital. Among them, one person remains in critical condition, officials have confirmed.
Cincinnati Police Department Captain Stephen Bower addressed the media, revealing that five of the individuals suffered serious injuries, while four others were left with minor injuries. The building involved is primarily home to students, Bower noted.
“They were celebrating after a major exam,” he explained, shedding light on the circumstances leading up to the unfortunate event.
As the community grapples with the aftermath, Cincinnati Fire Chief Frank McKinley has assured the public that a thorough investigation into the collapse is underway, as reported by WKRC-TV.
