Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, widely recognized by his stage name Odumodublvck, recently opened up about a harrowing near-death experience during a tonsil surgery.

The hip-hop sensation revealed that this medical ordeal coincided with the release of his hit single “Declan Rice.”

Initially intended to be a straightforward 30-minute procedure to remove his tonsils, the surgery unexpectedly spiraled into a critical, five-hour emergency due to unforeseen complications.

Odumodublvck credited his survival to the swift actions of another doctor who happened to be present at the hospital and quickly intervened to assist.

Odumodublvck recounted that his survival was largely due to the timely intervention of another doctor, who, by chance, was in the hospital at the time and quickly stepped in to help.

Following the ordeal, the rapper admitted that he was overwhelmed with fear and anxiety, convinced that he might not make it through. He also revealed that he confided his fears to his 71-year-old mother before eventually recovering from the traumatic experience.

He said in a viral video: “That’s so crazy because I thought I was going to d!e. That’s so crazy. When I dropped Declan Rice, that’s when I did the surgery. I took out my tonsils. I don’t have tonsils, and when I did the surgery the first time, this is the first time I’m saying this on camera.

“Surgery of 20 minutes or 30 minutes took five hours. The guy that was doing the surgery said that in 12 years of doing that surgery, he has never asked for help. But that day, he asked for help, and the guy he asked was staying one hour away.

“But that day when he called, he was two minutes away at the filling station. He just came in , even the hospital did not know he came in. He came like an angel and went. When the surgery was done, I thought I was actually going to d!e. I was telling my mother that I’m not going to make it.”
