Some of the world’s leading apps and websites suddenly became inaccessible, causing a stir among users globally. Platforms such as Roblox, Snapchat, Fortnite, Canva, and Duolingo are among the notable services affected, as reported by DownDetector.
The widespread disruptions have been traced back to a malfunction with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a critical backbone for many of these digital platforms. AWS is renowned for supplying the infrastructure that powers a vast array of websites and apps.
In response to the outages, AWS released a statement acknowledging the issues. “We can confirm increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS services in the US-East-1 region,” the company stated.
AWS further assured users that they are actively working to resolve the disruptions. “We are committed to both mitigating the issue and understanding its root cause,” the statement continued, highlighting their efforts to restore normalcy.
“We are actively engaged and working to both mitigate the issue and understood the root cause.
