Famed for lending his voice to young Simba in Disney’s 1994 hit, The Lion King, Weaver recently took to Instagram to share the delightful news that he and his partner, Gabby, have welcomed a baby boy, whom they’ve named River Jeremiah Weaver.
“I’m OVERWHELMED with PRIDE, GRATITUDE, and JOY to introduce the newest member of my wonderful family,” Weaver expressed. “Everyone, please welcome my newborn son, River Jeremiah Weaver! He made his grand entrance this past Wednesday at 10:25 p.m., and what an unforgettable arrival it was.”
Jason extended heartfelt thanks to the WellStar OBGYN team and the dedicated nursing staff for their exceptional care during River’s birth.
In a playful nod to his iconic role, Weaver shared a humorous video from the hospital. The clip features a nurse lifting baby River aloft, evoking memories of The Lion King’s famous “Simba presentation” scene.
The actor then turned his attention to Gabby, praising her for how she handled the pregnancy.
“Most importantly, I want thank my BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, AND PHENOMENAL LADY GABBY for bringing our child into this world! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, BABY!! THANK YOU!!! You did everything that GREAT MOTHERS should do throughout the course of a pregnancy. You have my utmost and DEEPEST RESPECT, honey. I MEAN THAT from the bottom of my heart!! You handled this whole process like the QUEEN that you TRULY are!! I know it wasn’t easy, BUT YOU DID IT!!! I’m so PROUD of you, and I’m SO BLESSED to have you in my life! THANK YOU, BABY!!!”
