SAVANNAH, Ga. – The start of the work week in Savannah brings delightful autumn weather. As temperatures gently increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, you can expect highs to reach the upper 70s to lower 80s. A dry cold front will make its way through on Wednesday, foregoing any rain but ushering in cooler temperatures. By Thursday and Friday, the highs will dip into the mid-70s, accompanied by abundant sunshine.

Looking further ahead, a weak system might introduce scattered showers on Sunday and into Monday. Despite this, temperatures will stay pleasantly in the mid to upper 70s, offering ideal fall conditions.

In the Tropics…

Currently, in the eastern Caribbean, we have a tropical wave designated as Invest 98L. Although it has yet to form a closed circulation, the system is generating clusters of showers and thunderstorms. According to surface data, the system is showing signs of better organization, with conditions expected to become more favorable as it slows down.

There is potential for a tropical depression or storm to develop in the next day or two as it progresses into the central Caribbean.

Regardless of development, heavy rain and gusty winds are possible over the ABC Islands. Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Cuba should monitor the system for potential flooding, strong winds, and rough surf later this week. Formation chance (48 hrs): 70%. Formation chance (7 days): 90%
