Semi-truck fire briefly shuts down part of I-57 in Iroquois Co.

IROQUOIS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A section of Interstate 57 was temporarily shut down for approximately two hours on Monday evening in Iroquois County following a semi-truck fire.

Illinois State Police reported that around 5:40 p.m., troopers were on the scene of the fire near milepost 300, just south of Chebanse. This incident prompted the closure of the southbound lanes of I-57 in the affected area, with traffic being diverted at the Chebanse exit while crews worked to clear the truck and debris.
