Vice President JD Vance touched down in Israel on Tuesday with the aim of reinforcing support for the tentative ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

This ceasefire, orchestrated by the United States, has recently experienced instability due to escalating tensions and uncertainties surrounding the implementation of a lasting peace strategy.

On Sunday evening, Vance acknowledged the challenges associated with sustaining the ceasefire. “There will be occasions when activities within Gaza are unclear… the situation will have its ups and downs, and we must remain vigilant,” he remarked.

Joined by his wife, Usha Vance, the Vice President is set to engage in discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and plans to stay in the region until Thursday.
