In a welcome turn of events for local film enthusiasts, the theater in Mattoon, Illinois, previously closed by AMC, is set to reopen with a fresh start under new management. The change comes just two months after AMC’s departure, bringing a wave of anticipation to the community.

VIP Cinemas announced on Monday its plans to breathe new life into the 10-screen venue by the end of the year. The company promises a revamped experience with an expanded menu, more affordable pricing, and extended operating hours, setting the stage for a revitalized cinematic hub.
