Dreka Gates, the estranged wife of rapper Kevin Gates, has requested judicial intervention to secure financial support from him, citing his withdrawal from family commitments. She claims Kevin ceased providing for their household, prompting her to seek legal assistance.
As per court records accessed by TMZ, Dreka asserts that Kevin’s financial support dwindled significantly towards the end of 2021. She alleges that he discontinued covering essential family expenses, including property taxes and the private school tuition fees for their children.
Dreka further alleges that while Kevin curtailed his family obligations, he continued to indulge in a luxurious lifestyle. This includes the acquisition of 18 high-end vehicles and a $4.7 million mansion located in Calabasas, California.
The court documents also reveal Dreka’s claim that their Mississippi farm faces foreclosure. This is reportedly due to a $7 million tax lien imposed by the IRS for unpaid taxes.
In her legal plea, Dreka is asking the court to mandate Kevin to provide $27,193 monthly in child support, along with $46,274 each month for spousal support.
In the filing, Dreka also alleges that their Mississippi farm is now in foreclosure after the IRS placed a $7 million levy on the property for unpaid taxes.
She is asking the court to order Kevin to pay $27,193 a month in child support and $46,274 a month in spousal support.
Dreka is also requesting to be named the children’s primary physical custodian, saying they have been with her about 95 percent of the time since 2023.
Kevin, however, has reportedly claimed that the two were never legally married, a statement Dreka’s legal team calls “factually baseless.”
The pair married in October 2015, and Dreka filed for divorce in July, citing irreconcilable differences. They share two children, daughter Islah, 12, and son Khaza, 11.
Kevin has previously acknowledged having other children, telling YouTuber VladTV, “I have a lot of children. I know I don’t have a lot of biological children, but you can’t tell them that I am not their biological father…I don’t like to make the distinction between, you know, because I have a lot of children that I take care of .”
