Preservation group urges pause in White House East Wing demolition

A preservation organization is urging a temporary halt in the planned demolition of the White House’s East Wing, where a $250 million ballroom is proposed by President Trump.

Carol Quillen, President and CEO of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, released a statement on Tuesday, saying, “We respectfully urge the Administration and the National Park Service to pause demolition until plans for the proposed ballroom undergo the legally required public review processes.”
