Brittany Cartwright has shared an optimistic update on her recovery following a “mommy makeover” surgery she underwent nearly a month ago. The reality star expressed that she is “getting better every day,” indicating positive progress in her healing journey.
Cartwright, 36, took to Instagram on Monday, October 20, to share her experience, stating, “Almost 3 weeks post-op! I’m feeling a little sore and still swollen but I’m doing amazing.” This statement came after an exclusive source informed Us Weekly that Cartwright had chosen to have procedures including a tummy tuck, performed by the skilled hands of Dr. Payman Danielpour and Dr. John Layke from the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group.
As part of her transformative journey, Cartwright also opted to update her breast implants, having removed the ones from her initial augmentation, an event well-documented during season 4 of Vanderpump Rules.
In a mirror selfie, Cartwright proudly displayed the results of her surgery, donning a black tank top paired with form-fitting leggings, offering her followers a glimpse into her progress.

The Bravolebrity expressed her satisfaction, saying, “I’m so happy with my decision, do whatever makes you happy with your own body and lift other women up always!” She emphasized her belief in the beauty and strength of a woman’s body, encouraging love and respect for all forms, with a heartfelt note: “Everyone may not take the route I chose, and I truly believe a woman’s body is incredible no matter what and deserves all the love! 🩷🩷”
After seeing her post, several stars flooded her comments section with compliments and well-wishes. “I said DAYUMMMMMM ❤️🔥💕 so sparkly inside and out,” Kristen Doute wrote in support. Tamra Judge added, “You look amazing always. Hope you feel back to normal soon.”
Cartwright’s rep Lori Krebs told Us in early October that Cartwright had decided on the surgery to launch “an empowering new chapter in her journey of self-confidence, healing and growth.”
It was also revealed that Cartwright will later share “more about the experience and her recovery” on her “When Reality Hits With Brittany Cartwright” podcast.
Cartwright’s choice to go through with the procedure initially came to light after she shared a cryptic hint via social media.
“When they said ‘remove what no longer serves you,’ I took it literally 💅,” Cartwright wrote, showing herself wrapped in compression bandages with two surgical drains hanging off them. “In all seriousness, y’all know I always keep it real — and sooo…I did a thing💕 Something I’ve wanted to do for years and I finally took the step for me. I couldn’t be happier.”
Cartwright is the proud mom of son Cruz, 4, whom she shares with estranged husband Jax Taylor. She filed for divorce from Taylor, 46, in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences and listing January 24, 2024, as the separation date.
In July, Taylor announced that he would not be returning to The Valley after two seasons.
“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he shared in a statement with E! News at the time, revealing he was prioritizing his well-being. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”
