An unexpected visitor brought a touch of wildlife to an Orlando apartment complex on Tuesday night, prompting a swift response from local authorities. According to the city’s police department, officers were dispatched to Lake Debra Drive following reports of a “dangerous animal.”
Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered a 5-foot-6-inch alligator making its way through the complex’s hallway. The police department shared video footage showing officers skillfully capturing the reptile and safely releasing it back into its natural habitat at Lake Mann.
“Thankfully, neither our officers nor the alligator suffered any injuries,” the police department stated. “This incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of police work, where our officers must be ready for any situation that arises.”
Video released by the police department shows the officers capturing the alligator and releasing it back into Lake Mann.
“No officers or the alligator were injured,” the release reads. “This incident is a reminder that our officers never know what they’ll encounter on a call, but they are always prepared to get the job done.”
