An Air New Zealand flight has successfully landed in Sydney after encountering a technical problem mid-flight.
The passengers were informed of the situation when the aircraft experienced hydraulic and steering complications as it traveled across the Tasman Sea.
In a statement, Air New Zealand’s Chief Safety and Risk Officer, Nathan McGraw, confirmed, “NZ221 from Christchurch to Sydney reported a technical issue while in flight.”
He added, “As a precaution, emergency services were on standby when the aircraft arrived.”
“The plane landed without incident, and our engineering team will now conduct inspections to ensure it is safe for future flights,” McGraw concluded.
The plane arrived in Sydney at around 9am and was met by emergency vehicles on the tarmac.
