ST. JOSEPH, Ill. (WCIA) – The St. Joseph-Ogden boys’ soccer team has had an impressive 2025 regular season, suffering just a single defeat.

After being ousted by the eventual 1A state champions, U-High, during the Sectional Semifinals in 2024, the Spartans are now setting their sights on a significant postseason push.

Their remarkable achievements are even more noteworthy considering that Jaxson Colvin, their starting goalkeeper, has been out of action due to injury for nearly the entire season.

In Colvin’s absence, Quinn Stahl has admirably taken up the challenge of guarding the net, despite having no prior experience in the position. While his performance has been commendable, Stahl attributes much of the team’s success to others.

“My defense has been incredible,” Stahl shared. “They’ve been crucial in keeping threats at bay and providing the support I need. Jaxson Colvin, although injured, has been instrumental in mentoring me and showing me the ropes. His guidance has been invaluable.”

The Spartans credit chemistry and connectivity for their consistent results. They say that stems from off-the-field comradery, and workouts dating back to the summer.

SJO plays host to Uni-High for a Regional Championship on Saturday.
