Sophie Turner has been unveiled as a devoted fan of Coldplay, moved to tears by a birthday greeting from her new romantic interest, Chris Martin. This heartfelt video was orchestrated by her former husband, Joe Jonas.

The 29-year-old actress, known for her role in Game of Thrones, is reportedly seeing 48-year-old musician Chris Martin. This comes after the Daily Mail disclosed their ‘secret date’ following Turner’s breakup with aristocrat Peregrine ‘Perry’ Pearson after nearly two years together.

The video in question, recorded back in 2020 during Joe’s show, Cup of Joe, captures a surprise birthday moment for Sophie, courtesy of her then-husband, Joe Jonas, aged 36.

While at a restaurant, Joe handed Sophie his phone, saying, “I have someone who wants to say happy birthday.”

Sophie, visibly shocked, covered her face with her hands and exclaimed with delight, “It’s Chris Martin!”

He said: ‘This is Chris from Coldplay, I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band, have the best day and I sending you all my love and I hope your having the best time.’

The singer signed off the video, ‘Thanks for being awesome, bye’, and blew a kiss to the camera.

The former couple looked happy as Joe laughed at Sophie’s reaction before the pair high-fived with excitement. 

The actress famously married ex Joe in 2019, and the pair share two children, daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two.

The former couple finalised their divorce in September 2024, a little over a year after the Jonas Brothers star filed for separation.

Sophie and Chris are now said to be dating after she and ex Perry called it quits last month, after nearly two years together.

Chris has also become single after splitting from American actress Dakota Johnson, 35, in June after almost eight years together and an engagement. 

The Coldplay star and Hollywood actress were first romantically linked in 2017 following his 2015 divorce from Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow, 53, with whom he shares two children.

Chris and Dakota secretly got engaged several years later.

But in June of this year, the Daily Mail confirmed that the couple had decided to part ways after nearly a decade together.

The Daily Mail’s source claimed Dakota was ‘devastated’ that she would no long be around the singer’s daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19, ‘as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them’.  

Meanwhile, despite several reports of splits and reconciliations between Perry and Sophie over the summer, insiders revealed that the couple officially broke up after a high-society wedding in late September. 

Sources said the Joan star and aristocrat were seen there bickering and arguing between feverish snogs on the dance floor.

Sophie did not mope around feeling glum about losing her Viscount-in-waiting as she reportedly she went on a date with Chris the very next week. 

Chris, who famously ‘consciously uncoupled’ from his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, has been in London this summer with a string of Wembley dates as part of Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres tour.

But while Sophie appears to have moved on with the Coldplay frontman, it seems Perry didn’t waste much time, either.

Sources have revealed the heir to the Cowdray estate in West Sussex was seen at a trendy West London nightclub last week, hand-in-hand with a willowy, long-legged blonde who had an uncanny – and rather amusing – resemblance to Sophie.

A representative for Sophie Turner declined to comment.

Sophie and Perry were first linked in 2023 and before split rumours emerged they were last seen together at Glastonbury Festival in June.

It was later claimed Sophie joined exclusive celebrity dating app Raya in a bid to find love, with her profile reportedly spotted on the platform in August. 

However, in mid September they proved to be very much back on as they cosied up for a series of snaps at the event in London. 

Peregrine is the eldest son and heir of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray – a former film producer who owns a significant chunk of the Pearson media empire. 

His ancestral estate is home to Cowdray Park Polo Club – which boasts ten pitches and hosts more than 450 matches each year.

Reports in August claimed she uploaded nine photos to her Raya profile – including holiday snaps and one of her dancing in a hotel room.

According to The Sun, the actress listed her interests on the app as: ‘music, pasta, movies, family, sun, and friends’.

Daily Mail contacted Sophie’s representative for comment at the time. 

News of their reported split came after the pair first sparked speculation they’d broken up earlier this year when Sophie unfollowed Peregrine on Instagram. 

The actress first revealed she was dating Viscount Cowdray’s son in December 2023, months after the breakdown of her four-year marriage to Joe.

Elsewhere Joe was spotted last week mingling with a mystery brunette while at a private party hosted by Bad Bunny to celebrate his Billboard Latin Artist of the 21st Century Award in Miami, Daily Mail has learned.

Eyewitnesses spotted the Jonas Brothers member, 36, chatting with the woman while seated at a reserved corner table inside of hotspot Gekko, which Bad Bunny co-owns with renowned restaurateur David Grutman.

The two were seen leaning in towards one another, chatting closely together and exchanging a few laughs, per video footage the Daily Mail exclusively obtained.

We’re told there was no PDA, however, so it’s unclear if the nature of their relationship is romantic.

A source told the Daily Mail that, at one point, the woman and Jonas got up together to go into a separate room in the restaurant, where a bathroom and bar are located. They came back to the table together a few minutes later.
