In 1991, Demi Moore attended the initial table read for *A Few Good Men* while nearly eight months pregnant, causing noticeable discomfort for her co-star, Tom Cruise.

“I believe Tom was somewhat embarrassed,” the 62-year-old actress mentioned at the New Yorker Festival on Saturday, as reported by People.

“Personally, I was fine with it. I was active and moving around, but I sensed he found the situation a bit awkward,” she added.

Moore and the 63-year-old *Mission: Impossible* actor commenced filming their roles as JAG attorneys in Rob Reiner’s courtroom drama in October 1991. This was just three months after Moore and her then-husband, Bruce Willis, celebrated the arrival of their second daughter, Scout.

“I was going to wear a military uniform and probably overestimated the need to get fit, so I began working out even before she was born,” admitted Moore, who reportedly earned $2 million for the role.

‘I did a two-and-a-half-hour hike the day my water broke. I did a 24-mile bike ride, and then was dancing at a reggae club — hence why she came two-and-a-half weeks early.’

The Golden Globe winner now marvels at her ability to juggle ‘breastfeeding’ with ‘blocking and rehearsing a scene’ as Lieutenant Commander Joanne Galloway on the set of A Few Good Men.

‘It’s one of the many things, for me, that I just felt didn’t make sense. And so I challenged that to say, you know, “Why not? Why can’t you have both?”‘ Demi reflected onstage Webster Hall in Manhattan.

‘But with that, I think, came a lot of pressure I put on myself to, in a sense, prove that it was possible.’

The critically-acclaimed courtroom thriller, based on Aaron Sorkin’s 1989 Broadway play, earned four Oscar nominations and amassed $243.2M at the global box office from a $40M budget.

The ensemble cast also included Jack Nicholson, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Pollak, J. T. Walsh, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Kiefer Sutherland.

Moore (born Guynes) welcomed three daughters – Rumer, 37; Scout, 34; and Tallulah, 31 – during her 11-year marriage to the retired 70-year-old movie star, which amicably ended in 2000.

Tom (born Thomas Mapother IV) didn’t welcome children of his own until he and second wife Nicole Kidman adopted their 32-year-old daughter Bella in December 1992 after suffering a traumatizing miscarriage.
