Cam Skattebo has spoken out for the first time since sustaining a season-ending ankle dislocation during Sunday’s game against the Eagles.

In a heartfelt post on X, Skattebo expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support and confirmed that his surgery had been successful, echoing the earlier remarks of Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

“I want to extend my gratitude to the city of Philadelphia for their exceptional care,” Skattebo shared. “During my time in the hospital, surrounded by family and friends, I truly felt the love and support from everyone. A big thank you to the doctors, surgeons, and staff who provided me with top-notch care.”

He continued, “This is just the beginning of my journey, and I’m eager to share it with all of you!”

“I believe that God has a plan for me, and by staying the course, everything will fall into place. Be right back!”

The devastating injury to the Giants’ rookie had occurred in the second quarter when he went up to attempt to catch a pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart, who was visibly emotional when he saw the injury.

Skattebo was in immediate pain when he came down awkwardly and a fellow teammate quickly called for the Giants’ medical staff to come out.

He had to be carted off the field and he was taken to a local Philadelphia hospital.

In a feel-good moment, beloved Philadelphia sports figure, Dom DiSandro, the Eagles’ chief of security, visited Skattebo on Monday at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and brought the injured Giant pizza and cheesesteaks, the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported.

Skattebo is expected to be ready to play next season as long as there are no setbacks in his recovery, but Daboll did tell reporters that he had “a long road ahead of him.”

“He’s an infectious personality,” Daboll said. “That’s Skatto. (Spirits) are good – as good as can be through text. You feel for your players when they go down like that.”

Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns this season.
