Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler has firmly placed the blame on Democrats for stalling economic and small business growth, describing the situation as a “screeching halt.”
The ongoing government shutdown, which commenced on October 1, is having significant repercussions not only on federal workers but also on countless small businesses, Loeffler emphasized.
“Democrats seem intent on causing distress to score political victories, and unfortunately, this is being done at the expense of small businesses,” Loeffler stated. “Currently, around 320 small businesses daily are unable to secure their loans due to the shutdown,” she noted, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
According to Loeffler, this blockade has prevented approximately $170 million from reaching Main Street, and as the shutdown drags on into Day 27, the financial toll has reached upwards of $4 billion. This has left about 6,000 small businesses without the necessary funding, with Senate Democrats standing accused of refusing to take action to reopen the government, she elaborated.
